What we learned
The legacy logic was dictating the user experience
We interviewed a diverse selection of customers and held focus group sessions to better understand bottlenecks in the current process. We identified a need to solve a lot of frustrations regarding the current process and fiscal simulations.
Clients just wanted answers
Simulations to calculate cost of ownership of a certain vehicle, to select the best legal entity for their new business, to create a financial plan and to optimize long term savings. Most clients didn’t know where to start to simulate the request they had at the time, and didn’t want to bother the accountant.
A lot of overhead for the accountant
Tax accountants had to deal with numerous Excel files, though collaboration and constantly having to keep compliance up to date.
Legacy solutions are costly
The business’ main problem was the lack of an online payment method, high demand of support and a very long onboarding process for their on-premise products.
How might we

Launch and capture customer- and market feedback earlier by shortening customer-centric design, development and release cycles.
Switch to a subscription based model by offering online payment plans and user management.
Reduce overhead in (technical) support for a broad range of products by making the onboarding instant and intuitive, defining an intuitive user experience and improving the online support platform.
Leverage existing client data, existing solutions and market innovations by implementing internal and 3rd party integrations.
Do all this without overloading the existing customers with a phased migration approach.
